Jimmy Wayne is reaching the end of his 1,700-mile Meet Me Halfway walk, finally reaching the Arizona state line. The singer began the walk on Jan. 1 to help raise awareness for children who age out of the foster care system and run the risk of becoming homeless.
With the end of the journey near, festivities are already in the works to celebrate Wayne's walk from Nashville to Phoenix.
On July 31, a free concert is scheduled at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Mesa, Ariz. The concert will act as the final push for Wayne as he is scheduled to arrive in Phoenix the following day, Aug. 1.
In the final mile of the journey, supporters will be welcome to share the walk with Wayne to HomeBase Youth Services, where the official Meet Me Halfway program will be housed.
