New entries on the chart this week include Roll by Kevin Deal (Piedrero Music), Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John by Peter Case (Yep Roc), and It’s Not Big, It’s Large by Lyle Lovett and His Large Band (Lost Highway). For this week’s Americana chart, click HERE In other Americana music news: If you’re attending any of Lucinda Williams' upcoming concerts in Los Angeles and New York, you’ll be able to purchase CD copies of each performance and leave with the disc that same evening. Lucinda will perform five of her previously-released albums in their entirety, one album per night, in the two cities, beginning in Los Angeles on Sept. 5 at the El Rey Theater. She’ll travel to New York for two shows (Sept. 29-30) at Irving Plaza and three additional concerts, beginning Oct. 2 at Town Hall. Lucinda will perform her self-titled project from 1988, as well as Sweet Old World, Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Essence and World Without Tears. The CDs will be available in limited editions, with no plans to make them available elsewhere.Lucinda’s record label, Lost Highway, is not involved in the recording or distribution of the discs. ****** Jim Lauderdale, Buddy Miller and Sam Bush performed in-the-round at the Musician's Hall of Fame in Nashville on Wednesday for a special taping of XM Radio's Heroes Behind the Hits. Produced by the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, the show will air on XM in October shortly before the annual Americana Music Association conference and awards show. In related news, Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby will perform at the Nov. 1 awards show at the Ryman Auditorium, where Jim Lauderdale will host and Buddy Miller will lead the house band. The Lifetime Achievement Award for Producer/Engineer, which will also be presented at the awards show, will go to Memphis’ Jim Dickinson. Joe Ely was previously announced as the Lifetime Achievement Recipient in the Performer category. The association will announce the winners in six member voted categories including Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Instrumentalist, New and Emerging Artist, Song of the Year and Duo Group of the Year at the Honors and Awards Show. The Americana conference, now in its eighth year, begins Oct. 31, 2007.
