Country Music legend Bill Anderson is happy to see the month of June come to an end this year. The songwriter has endured two funerals, surgery and a bus fire accident.

"During the past thirty days, I've been to funerals for my first wife, Bette, mother of my two daughters, and for Jimmy Dean, one of the closest friends I have ever had," Anderson told fans in his July newsletter.

Anderson's bus caught on fire last month while he was taking the stage in Branson, Mo. There were no injuries, but Anderson wrote in his newsletter, "The nicest dress suit I've ever owned, which was hanging in the back of the bus, now smells like I cooked it on a charcoal grill, and the matching boots have an odor similar to what I imagine a race car tire smells like at the end of the Daytona 500."

The singer hopes mid-summer will prove less dramatic. Anderson will be at the Grand Ole Opry July 2, 3 and 6 and will hit the road the following week, starting with Bearcreek Farms Country Resort in Bryant, Ind., on July 10.

Anderson also will be doing a show with Bill Cody on WSM Radio July 2 at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Fans can listen at www.wsmonline.com starting at 9:15 a.m. CMT.
