Trace Adkins Back in Stores with New Album on Aug. 17

Trace Adkins’ newest release, Cowboy's Back in Town, will be available in-stores on Aug. 17, a week earlier than Show Dog-Universal Music had originally scheduled.

Over the course of his career, Adkins has recorded three No. 1 hits, earned four Grammy nominations and sold more than 10 million records. His fall release, however, will be the first for his new label, Show Dog-Universal Music, headed by Toby Keith. The business relationship between Keith and Adkins stemmed from the success the two shared during 2009’s America’s Toughest Tour.

“There’s an excitement surrounding this whole new chapter in our lives,” said Adkins. “It’s reflected in the work I’ve done on this record. The musicians I brought together are long-time friends, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”

Adkins’ ability as a songwriter prevails throughout the record. He celebrates love in songs like “Don’t Mind If I Don’t” and “Still Love You,” while still gets rowdy with the track, “Hold My Beer.”

“I had a great time making it, I’m in a great spot creatively and I think all that shows in the way it sounds,” Adkins said.

Cowboy’s Back in Town is also being released in a deluxe version that will feature four additional singles from Adkins.

Adkins will be in Thackerville, Okla., on July 2 and Fort Polk, La., on July 3 before heading to Nashville to perform at Riverfront Park on July 4th.
