Roy Roger’s long-time companion and trusted horse, Trigger, will be auctioned along with more than 300 artifacts from the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans collection.

The auction, hosted by Christie’s in association with High Noon Western Americana, will be held July 14-15.

Trigger appeared alongside Rogers in movies and on television throughout the 1950s. Following Trigger’s death in 1965, Rogers enlisted the services of a taxidermist to mount the animal in a rearing position on two legs.

Trigger is expected to sell for $100,000 - $200,000. In addition to the stuffed horse, the auction will also offer suits by Nudie the Rodeo Tailor, saddles, personal photos, musical instruments, awards and the Nellybelle Jeep from Roger’s television show.

Rogers is a two-time inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame, as a member of Sons of the Pioneers in 1980 and as a solo artist in 1988.
