The George Strait – ACM Artist of the Decade tribute concert will make its cable premiere on GAC this Sunday, June 27, at 9:00 p.m. ET.
The concert is a tribute to Strait, who is considered by some to be the King of Country Music. There will be performances by Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Jamie Foxx, Faith Hill, Jack Ingram, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, John Rich, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Lee Ann Womack.
Strait is ACM’s fifth Artist of the Decade for the 2000s, following only four other artists: Marty Robbins for the 1960s, Loretta Lynn for the 1970s, Alabama for the 1980s and Garth Brooks for the 1990s.
The special was taped at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
