Keith Urban picked up a CMT Music Award last week for his timely single, "'Til Summer Comes Around" but spent much of his acceptance speech discussing the oil spill disaster and its effect on the Gulf Coast.
"I want to send my deepest love and prayers to all the families around the Gulf who are going through an insane time right now," Urban stated. "We've never seen anything like this and — emotions I can't even find words for while I watch this thing that's happening on TV. So Nic [wife Nicole Kidman] and Sunday and I want to send our love and prayers out to all you guys. We love you all. God Bless."
Urban has spent much time reflecting lately; his daughter, Sunday Rose, turns two next month. The superstar told People.com, "I think she's a combination of both of us so far, but she got my wife's legs, which is very lucky for her. She sure didn't deserve mine."
Urban is set to be featured in the latest issue of People magazine. The People Country Special is set to hit newsstands Friday, June 18.
