The star-studded 2010 CMT Music Awards honored both fan-favorites and newcomers on the Country Music scene.
Carrie Underwood took the night’s largest honors, winning the Video of the Year Award for “Cowboy Casanova” and the CMT Performance of the Year Award.
Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert were both first-time winners. Urban took home the buckle for Male Video of the Year for “’Til Summer Comes Around” for the first time, while Lambert won her first-ever buckle for Female Video of the Year for “White Liar.”
Lady Antebellum won Group Video of the Year for “Need You Now.” Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins won Collaborative Video of the Year for “Hillbilly Bone.” Legendary duo Brooks & Dunn won Duo Video of the Year for “Indian Summer.” This is Brooks & Dunn’s first duo win since 2002.
Newcomer Luke Bryan won the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Do I.”
The program kicked off with a performance by host Kid Rock with appearances by Trace Adkins, Zac Brown Band, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler and Hank Williams, Jr.
The night was filled with performances by Country’s biggest stars, including Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Jamey Johnson. Lambert sang her No. 1 hit, “White Liar,” and McGraw performed his 23rd No. 1 single, “Southern Voice.” Meanwhile, Johnson debuted his newest single, "Macon." Johnson was joined by guests Little Big Town, Kate and Kacey Coppola and guitarist Jeremy Popoff of Lit.
John Mayer and Keith Urban also teamed up for the first time since their CMT Crossroads performance to play Urban's “Hit the Ground Running.” Lady Antebellum ended the show with “Stars Tonight,” an unreleased single from their album.
