Melissa Peterman will host the 2010 CMT Music Awards Red Carpet Show on Wednesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. EST/PT. Peterman and co-host Evan Farmer of CMT will report live from the red carpet with exclusive interviews and review the fashion worn by country’s biggest stars.
This year’s CMT Music Awards promises to be one of the greatest yet as it coincides with the CMA Music Festival, which fills downtown Nashville with Country Music fans from around the world. Whether on the red carpet or at home, fans will have ample opportunity to participate in the red carpet festivities by watching the CMT Skype candid camera or by submitting their red carpet questions to Peterman and Farmer via @Followtheblonde or @FollowCMT on Twitter.
Peterman will also be a backstage correspondent during the CMT Music Awards show. Hosted by Kid Rock, the CMT Music Awards will broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena and be seen on CMT and
CMT.com. There will be performances by some of Country Music’s biggest stars, including Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band. There will also be appearances by celebrity presenters, including celebrity cook Paula Deen,
American Idol’s Kara Dioguardi, the NFL’s Terrell Owens, actress Hayden Panettiere, NASCAR legend Richard Petty and
Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson.
Peterman is the host of CMT’s The Singing Bee. She has also starred in Reba, Surviving Suburbia, Rita Rocks, Just Shoot Me and her own televised special Melissa Peterman: Am I the Only One. Peterman is signed to Big Machine Records and is working on a comedy album. She is touring with Reba McEntire, George Strait and Lee Ann Womack.
