Trace Adkins' Patriotism Honored

Trace-Adkins
Trace Adkins will receive a Medal of Honor from Daughters of the American Revolution National Society on June 5 in Nashville.

Nashville’s DAR Sarah Polk Chapter will present Adkins with their most prestigious award in recognition of his patriotic and humanitarian efforts that include participating in a memorial on May 25 for the 11 workers killed during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig explosion and two USO tours to Kuwait and Afghanistan.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization founded in 1890 that focuses on historic preservation, patriotism and education. There are 3,000 chapters in all 50 states with 165,000 members, all of whom can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, according the organization’s website.

Adkins will be on stage in Holmdel, N.J. on June 19 at the PNC Bank Arts Center and will headline Nashville’s July 4th celebration at Riverfront Park. Tickets for both events can be found at www.traceadkins.com.
