Kristy Lee Cook’s new television show, Goin' Country, will follow her journey from American Idol to Country Music singer. The show, airing on the Versus Network, will feature Cook’s down-to-earth country girl lifestyle as she visits with celebrities who share her interests.

An episode airing in September features Cook and guest Aaron Tippin turkey hunting on his 400 acre farm. Although the pair came up empty handed, Tippin did succeed in teaching Cook how to perfect her turkey call.

Tippin also took Cook on a flight in his 1941 Stearman biplane. Tippin, an avid aviation lover, received his commercial pilot license at the age of 17.

“The conditions weren’t optimum for a successful turkey hunt—we talked too much!” Tippin explained. “I also wanted to introduce her and the audience to another one of my loves — flying. She was a bit nervous, but she’s a trooper. She’s a sweet girl; Thea and I really enjoyed having her.”

Cook released her debut album, Why Wait, in 2008 and the single, "15 Minutes of Shame," was a Top 30 hit on the Billboard Charts.
