Joe Diffie is set to release his new album, Homecoming: The Bluegrass Album, on Aug. 24 on Rounder Records.

 

The album was co-produced by Diffie and Luke Wooten. Music featured on the album is by The Grascals, Rhonda Vincent, Bradley Walker and Alecia Nugent. The top-band includes Rob Ickes, Aubrey Haynie, Mike Compton, Bryan Sutton, Mark Fain and Charlie Cushman.

 

Diffie spent several years recording with bluegrass band Special Edition all over the country before coming to Nashville. With his new album, he drew inspiration from modern music as well as his past experiences such as "Tennessee Tea" and other classic tunes such as Flatt & Scruggs’ "Somehow Tonight."

 

Select Diffie originals will be featured on his album, including "It’s Raining On Her Rubber Dolly Now," which was co-written with Camp and features The Grascals.
