Nashville’s stars come together to raise $1.7 million for flood relief Sunday night, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow and many others joined forces to raise money for Nashville flood relief.

The stars manned the phones and performed during the Music City Keep on Playin’ benefit in Nashville. By 11:45 p.m., they raised more than $1.7 million for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley donated $100,000 of their own money to the cause.

For Crow, Nashville has become a real home. "I've lived in a lot of different places," she said. "But I've never felt home until I lived here."

Aside from answering phones, Urban also played an acoustic version of the Beatles’ “Help.” Kidman and Urban’s home was among those damaged in the floods.

“We certainly weren't spared. Our place out in Franklin, we had quite a bit of damage out there," he said, noting that his musical equipment "floated down the river toward Smyrna ... It's just been a very moving experience for me."

The May 1 floods damaged or destroyed nearly 2,000 homes in the Nashville area.
