We all know legendary Kris Kristofferson for his singing, songwriting and acting. His talents have been celebrated several times recently, being inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and receiving the John Cash Visionary Award in 2007. Now, it’s time to celebrate once again; Kristofferson’s Please Don’t Tell Me How The Story Ends: The Publishing Demos 1968-72 has been released.

Light In The Attic Records packaged the never-before-released demos with attention to detail and style, very representative of Kristofferson.

Most of the numbers being released were penned in the mid-to-late 60s during Kristofferson’s time as a janitor for Columbia Records in Nashville. Since then, his material has been covered by more than 500 artists, including the legendary Johnny Cash, one-time lover Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan.

Please Don’t Tell Me How The Story Ends features comprehensive liner notes by Michael Simmons and includes interviews with Kristofferson, the musicians and other related folks from these landmark sessions. The packaging also includes testimonials from friends Dennis Hopper and Merle Haggard. Additionally, full lyrics are showcased in an extensive 60-page full color booklet featuring unseen photos and archival material.

Kristofferson will be traveling again this summer and fall for a solo acoustic show. Along with songs from this new release, he will play some more recent classics from Closer To The Bone and This Old Road.
