Sony Nashville Chairman Joe Galante announced this week that he is leaving the company after more than 15 years with the record label.

"As a 21-year-old kid from Queens starting out at RCA Records in New York, I never dreamed of the nearly 40-year journey that was before me," Galante said a press release yesterday.

Over the course of his career, Galante is known for signing a range of musical talent, from Dave Matthews Band and the Wu-Tang Clan to Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride. "I have been inspired by so many exceptional artists and songwriters and feel privileged to be a part of their careers. I've worked with unique managers and executives who helped me learn more about this business and how to better my craft," Galante said.

The music giant will continue his role in the music business and act as a consultant. Today, All Access Music Group reported that EMI Music Publishing's EVP/GM Gary Overton will replace Galante.

As for Galante, Nashville hopes he will continue to lend his talent to the Country Music biz. He said, "Nashville is my home and will continue to be."
