Singer-songwriter Billy Joe Shaver was found not guilty of a shooting that happend in Waco, Texas, in 2007. Last Friday, April 9, a trial was held in Waco, where Shaver sat on the witness stand for the murder of Billy Bryant Coker.
Good friends Willie Nelson and Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall were present at the trial to show support for Shaver, who had a role in one of Duvall's film's, The Apostle.
When Shaver was questioned, he said the shooting stemmed from an argument he had with Coker in the bar. Shaver said he felt intimidated when Coker began stirring everyone's drinks at the bar with a pocketknife.
