After beating out the competition on season two of CMT’s Can You Duet?, Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones, also known as Country duo Steel Magnolia, have continued to collect both critical and commercial success. This week alone they have earned two 2010 CMT Music Award Nominations and a Top 10 hit.

The CMT Music Award nominations are for “Duo Video of the Year” for their debut single, “Keep on Lovin’ You” as well as for “USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year.”

“To be nominated for not one, but two CMT Music Awards is so exciting. And to get a Top 10 hit in the very same day feels absolutely surreal,” said Linsey. “It’s like we’re living a dream. We are so thankful for every team member, every radio station that is playing our music and for every fan that buys our music, comes to our shows or writes us MySpace messages. We don’t take any of it for granted.”

Steel Magnolia’s CMT Music Award nods came right after the duo was also nominated as Top Vocal Duo of the Year and Top New Vocal Duo by the Academy of Country Music Awards.

On Monday, April 5, “Keep On Lovin’ You,” took a spot in a Top 10 position on the Billboard Top Country Songs Chart. “Keep On Lovin’ You” is the highest charting debut single from a male/ female Country duet act in the 66-year history of the Billboard Top Country Songs Chart. The single tells the true-life story of how the duo actually met and fell in love at a Nashville karaoke bar.

Steel Magnolia will appear on the road with Brad Paisley on his H20 World Tour, which begins May 21. You can also see the duo at the 2010 CMT Music Awards broadcasted on Wednesday, June 9.
