Country singer Chris Young is celebrating a lot these days. In addition to a chart topping single, "The Man I Want to Be," a 2010 CMT Music Awards nomination and an appearance on the cover of Nashville Lifestyles, Young wil have the honor of opening for Alan Jackson's Freight Train tour.

The tour will kick off Thursday, April 8, in Ester, Fla. Young has opened for Jackson in the past, but said he is thrilled to be able to tour with him for an extended run, partly because he's a huge fan.

“This is somebody that so many people are huge fans of his music," Young said in a news release. "But especially for me, the people that I mention when I start saying, ‘I’m a big fan of…,’ he’s always mentioned, just because I love his music; I love him as a songwriter.”

Young will also be opening for Miranda Lambert's Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour on May 7 and 8.

Be sure to catch Young when he appears as a special guest on Hazel Smith's Southern Fried Flicks April 17 on CMT.
