Uncle Kracker has been making his way across Country radio with his latest single, "Smile," his first solo song to crack the Country Music airwaves. Yet Uncle Kracker has seen great success in the world of Country before, first with a Kenny Chesney duet, "When The Sun Goes Down," and the with last year's infectious "All Summer Long," recorded with friend Kid Rock.

The artist told CMT.com that he enjoys his visits to Nashville. "I love Nashville. I do. It's not home, you know, like Detroit is obviously home for me, but stuff I like to do, I can't do around my home," he said. "This place is one big music anything. You can go into any bar and see live music any night of the week. That is awesome and not something I can get at home. It would be sweet to live down here and be able to do that."

The singer sites his appreciation for Country Music came from listening to Patsy Cline and George Strait, thanks to his father. As a teenager, he began listening to Hank Williams Jr., which led him to discover Country Music greats such as Hank Sr., Marshall Tucker Band and Charlie Daniels.

The Detroit native also talked about working with Kid Rock, getting to duet with Kenny Chesney and his first ever 4th of July with Hank Jr. For the full interview, click here.
