Singer and songwriter Dierks Bentley will release his new, special bluegrass album, Up On The Ridge, this summer.
The bluegrass concept album showcases Bentley’s passion for bluegrass and roots music. It will feature vocal and instrumental contributions from Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Tim O’Brien and Sam Bush. Up On The Ridge also features acoustic musicians such as the Del McCoury Band and new musical partnerships with Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers.
“I didn’t want this to be ‘Dierks Bentley and friends’ or a ‘Dierks does bluegrass’ kind of album. I wanted each song to have something special about it, and in the end I think each song really does have its own thing going on,” Bentley said.
According to Bentley, the energy and artistry of bluegrass fueled his love for Country Music and his rise to one of the most distinguished Country Music artists of modern times.
“It’s my version of bluegrass music,” he said. “It’s not just banjos cranked up to eleven. It throws out a big net,” Bentley said.
