Country star Josh Turner is atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with his hit single, “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” for the third week in a row. He also holds the No. 1 spot on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart.
“I am on cloud nine right now,” Turner said in a news release. “You can’t get any higher than No. 1 and to stay there for three weeks is just incredible. I am really happy that people love this song.”
“Why Don’t We Just Dance” is on Turner’s fourth studio album, Haywire, which was released earlier this month. It debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, marking Turner’s third consecutive Top 10 album.
“With the way the economy is right now, I’m especially grateful to every person who went out and bought the new record and helped us have such a great first week on the sales chart,” Turner said.
Turner will open on Alan Jackson’s Freight Train tour, which kicks off April 8 in Estero, Fla. To learn more about the tour, visit CountryHoumd's coverage.
“I am really looking forward to sharing the stage with Alan,” Turner said. “He has always been one of my musical heroes, and I know we will be playing for a great group of Country Music fans during his tour.”
