Kix Brooks, known for being one half of the ountry duo Brooks & Dunn, will also soon be known around Nashville for his work involving the Nashville public schools. CMT.com reported that Brooks will be inducted into the Nashville Public Schools Hall of Fame and recieve the organization's distinguished service award on March 2.
Brooks is also the local spokesman for Monroe Harding Children's Home and sits on the board of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Tammy Genovese, the former CEO of the Country Music Association, will also be inducted and presented with a distinguished service award. Both Brooks and Genovese have been active in seeing that music education be kept a part of Nashville's public school curriculum.
