Willie Nelson Cancels Show, Bandmates and Crew Arrested

Willie-Nelson
Willie Nelson’s cancellation of his Jan. 30 show in North Carolina was announced about an hour after several of his band and crew members were arrested for allegedly possessing moonshine and marijuana. Meanwhile, Nelson's daughter posted a statement on her father's Web site saying the show was cancelled the show due to pain in Nelson's hand, which prevented him from playing guitar.

According to Alcohol Law Enforcement spokesman Ernie Seneca, six members of Nelson’s band and crew were arrested and charged with possession of non-tax-paid alcohol. Two of the six were also charged with marijuana possession. Nelson was not on the tour bus, where marijuana, rolling papers and a nearly full Mason jar containing moonshine were found.

Citations were also issued to John Duane Vogt, general manager of the Duplin County Events Center, and Donald Farrior, an assistant, for trying to interfere with the ALE investigation.

Nelson has carpal tunnel surgery on his left hand in 2004, but picks guitar with his right hand.
