The quirky Country Music duo Burns & Poe is set to sing the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at the Nashville Predators hockey game on Feb. 4. The Predators will face the Colorado Avalanche, and Burns & Poe are both excited to melt the ice with their stellar vocals.
“We couldn’t be more excited to sing in support of our hometown Predators; this Georgia boy and Florida gal are taking it to the ice,” said Keith Burns. “They don’t call it ‘Smashville’ for nothin’…the Avalanche are gonna come crashing down!”
Michelle Poe, the female half of the duo, says she attends nearly every Predators game but is more excited about this being her first time on the jumbo-tron.
Burns & Poe plan to perform their version of the National Anthem a cappella when they take the ice next week.
The duo is known for their spunky and flirtatious personality, but they also have impressive music backgrounds. Burns comes from the group Trick Pony, while Poe is the former bassist for Country Music stars Hank Williams Jr. and Dierks Bentley.
According to Country Standard Time, their first single, "Don’t Get No Better Than That," will start airing on radio Feb. 2. Their album is set to release in May, and the duo will be starting a radio promotions tour in the coming weeks.
