Jason Aldean Counts His Blessings In Light Of Haiti Devastation

Jason-Aldean-2009
Country boy Jason Aldean expressed his sympathy for the victims of the Haitian earthquake at his private industry party in Nashville on Tuesday, Jan. 19. While celebrating the success of his platinum-selling Wide Open album, Aldean was also thinking how lucky he, his family and friends were to enjoy the blessings they have received.
Prior to the party, Aldean took a moment to speak with reporters about the tragic and devastating earthquake in Haiti.
"Our thoughts and prayers are definitely with those people. It's just a tragic thing. I think anybody that sees any of the organizations -- churches and stuff -- that are doing missions over there, I mean, it's such a poor country and any bit of money will help,” Aldean said, according to AOL's The Boot. “A hundred bucks to them is like life-changing. They're gonna have to rebuild that whole place...it just looks like a war zone over there. So, I would just say for anybody who hears of any kind of missions or any kind of donations being accepted to go over there -- canned goods, food, whatever -- this is one of those things that I think everybody should kind of pitch in and help and get them back on their feet."

Other country stars have been helping out Haiti’s victims as well. Last Tuesday, Jan. 19, Buddy Jewell, Pam Tillis and others performed Handel’s Messiah in Nashville and raised money for the American Red Cross efforts. In addition, on Jan. 22, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift took part in the “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” telethon, which was televised on networks including CMT, MTV, HBO, VH1, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.
