Yesterday, Country Music star Aaron Tippin became the Commemorative Air Force celebrity spokesperson for 2010. Together, they will honor American Military Aviation, as well as highlight the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
As spokesperson, Tippin will be responsible for making appearances at CAF events and recording and filming several public service announcements for the organization. There is also a potential cross-country tour in the works as a collaboration with CAF.
Tippin said, “I am very excited about working with the CAF. As a son of a pilot, a pilot myself, and patriot, the mission of the organization is especially important to me: acknowledging the history of this great nation and the service men and women who make our freedoms possible is stellar and I’m happy to champion the organization’s efforts.”
Tippin soloed his first flight on the day of his 16th birthday, and by the age of 18 was a commercial multi-engine instrument-rated pilot. He is also helicopter qualified and a certified aircraft and power-plant mechanic. Tippin himself owns three vintage aircrafts, all in flying condition.
On the Country Music side, Tippin has been a frequent visitor to the men and women of the Armed Forces. Each year during Thanksgiving, he performs in Iraq and Afghanistan for the troops and has experienced the importance of showing our support for our soldiers.
Tippin is a platinum Country Music recording artist with 13 CDs on his resume. He has also claimed more than 30 charted singles and plays at least 200 dates every year.
