Country Stars Donate Auction Items for Charity

Christmas is right around the corner and this year, how would you like to unwrap something that has been signed or previously owned by Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift or Johnny Cash?

According to GACtv.com, The Country Angel’s Network is one of many organizations holding an auction this month, and in most instances, the proceeds of the auction go to worthy charities. Some auctions are online while others require you to bid in person.
Currently available for auction at Country Angel's Network are an autographed Fun Fan Pack from "Nancy" comic strip artist Guy Gilchrist, a Wynonna Judd “Coming Home to Myself” memoir and a Martina McBride autographed photo. Bids can be placed at www.countryangelsnetwork.org.
Another online auction online is benefiting songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman’s PeaceJam, an organization that allows kids to meet some of the world’s most important peacemakers. Taylor Guitars donated five custom guitars that were hand painted by Nashville artists, with each signed by 10 Nobel Peace Laureates, including the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The auction closes Dec. 17 at http://www.ebay.com/peacejam.
Many Country Music artists donated hand-written lyrics for some of their biggest singles for the American Music Association’s auction. Willie Nelson contributed “On the Road Again” and Dolly Parton provided “I Will Always Love You.” The auction closes this Monday with an event at Nashville’s Tinney Contemporary Gallery, which Emmylou Harris, Jack Ingram, Elvis Costello and Rodney Crowell are expected to donate lyrics at. One item not online is a guitar signed by Taylor Swift. It is being auctioned by the YMCA in Hendersonville, Tenn. According to WSMV-TV, bidding ends Dec. 12.
