Dierks Bentley, Kris Kristofferson Honor Waylon Jennings

Dierks Bentley has formed a unique friendship with Waylon Jennings' widow, Jessi Colter, after the two crossed paths at several benefit events, including Bentley's Miles for Kids motorcycle ride in Phoenix.
Bentley is among a long list of artists appearing on an upcoming Waylon Jennings tribute album. Jessi said she was particularly moved by Bentley's rendition of "Lonesome, Or'nry, and Mean." Waylon first recorded the single in 1972.
"He did a real gravely voice version that is to die for. I called him and said, 'Dierks, you just really broke my heart singing this song," Jessi said.
Others who have come together for the tribute album include Trace Adkins, ZZ Top, Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Kris Kristofferson, Patty Griffin and Waylon and Jessi's son, Shooter Jennings.
"It's going to be an incredible album. It's a very organic, heartfelt tribute, unlike any other
tribute album," said Jessi.
