Trace Adkins is set to make his third appearance on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The new episode will air on Sunday, Oct. 18. Adkins took a seven-day trip to Lancaster, Texas, to makeover Carlton and Susan Marshall’s home.

Carlton, who lost the majority of his mobility and hearing after he was shot while leading the Dallas SWAT team, and his wife Susan, volunteer their time to do horseback-riding therapy for children and adults with mental and physical challenges.
As most all of the candidates on this show, the Marshall family truly needed the Makeover team's help. Their home was infested with snakes in the walls, attic, plumbing and wiring. The foundation of the house was sinking and the septic system backed up on the lawn.
Adkins told AOL’s The Boot about his compassion for working on these projects, “I've worked with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition three times now and I personally feel that they're doing God's work. It's such a noble thing that those folks do and anytime I get a chance to be a part of it and help out in some way, I'm always eager to do it. This experience was very emotional because all of his fellow police officers were there and the emotion on those tough guys' faces -- it was heavy. It was a beautiful moment."
