Trace Adkins moves furniture into Marshall home

Trace Adkins will volunteer as a builder when he appears on the Sunday, Oct. 18, edition of ABC’s Extreme Makeover. Adkins will travel to Lancaster, Texas, to work on Carlton and Susan Marshall’s home. The Marshall’s house is in desperate need of repair due to structural and accessibility issues.

Carlton Marshall, a Dallas SWAT team member, lost his hearing and most of his mobility while serving narcotics search warrant two years ago. A bullet to the neck caused damage to his spinal cord that confines him to a wheelchair. The Carlton’s house is infested with snakes, has a sinking foundation and backed up septic system. Despite all their difficulties, the Marshall’s continue to volunteer with TROT, Therapeutic Riding of Texas, that provides therapy to psychically and mentally challenged people through horseback riding.

Adkins said, “I've worked with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition three times now, and I personally feel that they're doing God's work. It's such a noble thing that those folks do and anytime I get a chance to be a part of it and help out in some way, I'm always eager to do it.”
