The Nashville Music Garden Takes Root in Dedication Ceremony

Nashville got "greener" yesterday after Barbara Mandrell, Lynn Anderson and Ralph Emery helped dedicate The Nashville Music Garden, which features flowers named after Country Music legends that have gone before, paving the way for Country Music today.  
The garden is located on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Demonbreun, just across from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Mayor Karl Dean cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially dedicating the garden to the Music City greats.
Concluding the dedicThe garden includes an assortment of more than six dozens flowers whose names include Barbara Mandrell, Grand Ole Opry, Minnie Pearl, Elvis, Ring of Fire, Tennessee Waltz, Alabama, Chantilly Lace, Dolly Parton, Kiss an Angel Good Morning, Hank Williams, Reba McEntire, Pam Tillis and Amy Grant, among others.ation, Mandrell hosted a benefit lunch, sponsored by the Nashville Predators Foundation at the Sommet Center.
"It has been a very exciting day and I have never felt more love, camaraderie and joy over the beauty of what this event is all about," Mandrell said. "This garden and what it represents is beautiful. The city of Nashville is beautiful."
