Kenny Chesney is in the midst of filming the music video for his latest single, "I'm Alive," which appears on his Greatest Hits II album. Chesney wrote the song, which focuses on the fact that no matter what happens, you're still alive. The video attempts to capture Chesney's true essence, both on stage and off.
"It's easy - as the lyric says - to say that life is hard…but the other side of that is being willing to admit that life isn't one continuous party. You have to take moments to reflect, to look at where you've been, where you're going, to find new dreams. I wanted this video to reflect that.”
The video features performance footage from Chesney's NFL stadium stops on his Sun City Carnival Tour, as well as a couple of stops on the commando Keg in the Closet no frills, all music tour. On the flip side, it also shows reflective moments with Chesney thinking on the beach.
“Shaun (Silva) and his guys have really been shooting this tour, but beyond the obvious stuff, they've been trying to capture who I am when I'm not on that stage or meeting people,” Chesney explained. “And there are a lot of times out there where I am thinking about all that's happened, how we got here - and what this music means, not just to me because to me it's my life, but to the unbelievable fans who come out… how they get through stuff in their lives through these songs.”
