When Country Music star Reba McEntire visited The Boot this week to perform songs from her brand new album, they had to ask about her reaction to Brooks & Dunn breaking up.
"Ronnie did tell me a little bit about it beforehand, so I wasn't surprised," she said. "They've been together 20 years. You have to come up with new things to reinvent yourself. That's where they are right now. They've done the big tours, the greatest hits ... they've done about everything you can do in the music business and done it the best! And now they want to try something different."
It’s unlikely that something different will be retirement for the Country singers. Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks are working on a farewell tour for next year, but it’s rumored that they have already started on solo projects.
But no matter what they do, Reba is interested in learning about it.
"That's where my curiosity is peaked right now -- what are they going to do? I can't wait! I'll be their No. 1 fan on this one again,” she says. “I love them both. They're super people."
