In a letter to fans posted on her MySpace page, titled "Personal Message From Shania," Shania Twain apologized for the delay in new music, saying she is now in a "productive period" and using writing as a type of therapy to survive the pain of divorce (Twain recently divorced her husband of 14 years, Mutt Lange).
"The personal issues that took place just over a year ago have been well documented, and there’s no need to go into more detail here," Twain wrote. "Since then, I've been inspired by my pain to write and use writing as a therapy through the suffering."
Despite her pain, Twain said she has been enjoying life with 7-year-old son, Eja. "I'm enjoying my child, friends and family like I haven't in years, and it's great. I've been experiencing and seeing new things every day...basically I'm enjoying life."
Twain also asked fans to continue to be patient while she continues work on a new album.
