Laura Bryna, the spokesperson and voice of the Air National Guard’s ad campaign, created the "Hometown Heroes" National Search, based on her song of the same name, with the help of Southern Beauty Magazine and JOICO Hair Care. Bryna hopes to find five “every day” civilian heroes through an online nomination process. Due to the high response rate, the deadline for the search has been extended to the June 30.
Recording ‘Hometown Heroes’ and then getting to see how these brave men and women sacrifice really made me appreciate what they do,” said Bryna.  “And this national search is a way for us to showcase five people who selflessly give back in amazing ways.  There are everyday heroes in America doing wonderful things that often go unnoticed.  They might be an airline pilot, a firefighter, teacher, physician, scientist, or someone’s mom.”
To nominate a hometown hero, men and women over the age of 21 can log onto www.southernbeautymag.com, www.laurabryna.com or www.joico.com and fill out a brief questionnaire or create a short video about their nominee. Five winners will be announced July 4 and will be awarded a roundtrip flight to Los Angeles along with hotel accommodations and invitation to a special ‘Hometown Heroes’ event and Laura Bryna concert August 10 at the famous House of Blues in Hollywood. Attending will be some special Women of the Air Guard who are to be featured, along with Bryna, on the cover in the summer issue of Southern Beauty.
