He already brings wit to CMT’s “Country Fried Videos,” and this June, actor/comedian Bill Engvall will entertain viewers when he hosts the 2009 CMT Music Awards.
"CMT has promised a 'live and loud' show, and I'm honored to have been chosen as host," Engvall said. "Live television is always unpredictable and exhilarating, and I'm looking forward to sharing the stage with some of Country Music's biggest stars."
Engvall joins a lost list of performers, including Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and rockers Def Leppard.
The CMT Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Sommet Center in Nashville on Tuesday, June 16, at 8 p.m. EST on CMT and CMT.com.
