Martina McBride and Blackbird Vineyards joined together to make a "Signature Series" wine to premiere along with her newest album, Shine. The bottles will have a stamped autograph from McBride on the label. The wine will be available through an exclusive mailing list from the vineyard and on McBride's Web site, www.martinamcbride.com.
Michael Polenske, owner of the vineyards, discussed his excitement about working with the Grammy-award winner in a statement.
"I have always been a fan of Martina's work, and it's an honor to collaborate with her on the creation of her first signature wine," said Polenske. "We think it's quit fitting that she chose to work with Blackbird Vineyards to create this exclusive bottling due to our sharing of the Blackbird name -- her Nashville recording studio is named Blackbird Studio and it is one of the country's premier recording facilities."
The wine is a combinantion of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. McBride noted that while she's toured, she's been able to appreciate wines from across the world.
"I've been able to taste incredible wines while travelling the world on tour," McBride said. "I sampled Blackbird Vineyards' wines while on a trip to Napa Valley and loved them. I'm thrilled to collaborate with Blackbird on this inaugural Signature Series."
