Stars that are in the public eye, such as Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley, learn to overcome criticism and jokes made about them. AOL's The Boot reported that the latest criticism about Miley came fron comedian and actor Jamie Foxx, who appeared on a radio show saying Miley should "get a gum transplant...make a sex tape...and do some heroin."
After this, Billy Ray appeared on the Bonnie Hunt Show saying, "There was nothing funny about it. And quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic."

However, Billy Ray was impressed with how Miley handled the criticism. He said, "The decisions and choices I've seen her make while watching her grow up and deal with life, I think she's held her head high and conducted herself with lot of pride and made good choices," says Billy Ray. "Even in spots where life gets funky sometimes, I think she's held her head high and adjusted and made strong choices."

Foxx later later apologized for his comments when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, saying, "I didn't mean it maliciously. You know I'm a comedian. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."
