As such, the Red Cross is hosting an essay contest with tickets to see Keith Urban as the top prize, according to their Web site.Contestants are asked to share their stories about their personal experience with the Red Cross and how it changed their lives in 75 words or less. The grand prize winner Change a Life essay contest will receive tickets to see Keith Urban in concert in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 20 as well as backstage passes, hotel accomodations and a tour of the Red Cross Headquarters' Disaster Operations Center.Entries must be received on March 16 by 11 p.m. The winner will be announced on March 31, the same day Urban's Defying Gravity is set to be released. The top five finalists will be presented a vintage Red Cross T-shirt. Second prize will receive a 52-ince Philips HD LCD flat screen television, a DVD player and some Red Cross health and safety DVDs. Everyone who enters will receive a 10% discount at the RedCross.org online store.This is not the first time Urban has donated to the Red Cross. Earlier this year, he and wife Nicole Kidman donated $500,000 to the Red Cross Relief for Australian bushfires.
