Recently, he performed at a Presidentials Inauguration ceremony for Barack Obama, where he perform songs like “Shout,” “American Pie,” and “We Are One." The crowd and the new presidential family were enthused by Brooks' performance. Then on Feb. 22, CMT reported that Brooks thanked the Nashville Predators for their support of his charity, Teammates for Kids, by giving them a live, accoustic show. He did not use a microphone and had the bar closed specifically for his performance for the Nashville Predators. For three hours, Brooks played songs and told stories to a crowd of around 60 people, while the Predators drank cold beer and ate chicken wings. Teammates for Kids is an organization that provides health and educational services to children in need. More information about Teammates for Kids is available at http://www.teammatesforkids.com/indexOld.html.
