They call the week of the Academy of Country Music Awards the “week Vegas goes Country.” The lineup for the week of events have been set, kicking the week off on Freemont Street on April 3 with the New Artist Show. Show times and artists will be announced later.On Saturday, April 4 there will be three events: the 6th annual ACM Celebrity Golf Classic, featuring Rascal Flatts, as well as the ACM Chairman’s Ride, which in the past has been the Charity Motorcycle Ride, and finally the Divas Downtown on Freemont Street. This show will feature artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough.Sunday, April 5 will be the day of the 44th Annual ACM Awards show, which will again be hosted by Reba McEntire for the 11th year in a row. Following the awards will be the traditional All Star Jam, which will include a list of spontaneous performers who participated in the award show.This year a special celebration will take place on April 6, when the Academy will honor George Strait as the Artist of the Decade. This is an award that has only been awarded four times before to Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama and Garth Brooks. The 44th Annual ACM Awards will be held again at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
