George Strait To Headline Opening For New Dallas Cowboys Stadium

Officials announced that "the King" of Country Music, George Strait, will headline the new Dallas Coyboy's Stadium opening event on June 6. Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough will also perform at the opening event."I grew up in South Texas and have always been a Dallas Cowboys fan. I have a lot of great memories from playing the many shows we did at Texas Stadium, as well as watching America's team win their share of Super Bowls,” said Strait. “I am very excited about having the opportunity to do the first concert ever in the magnificent new Cowboys stadium and share this momentous occasion with all the incredible country music fans in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area."Already this year, Strait’s newest album, Troubadour, received the Grammy for Best Country Album. To add to his long list of lifetime achievements, on April 6 Strait will receive the Academy of Country Music’s award for Artist of the Decade, in addition to his other four ACM nominations. In his career, Strait has earned 19 ACM Awards and was named Entertainer of the Year in 1990.The new Dallas Cowboy’s stadium opens this year and will be the largest and most technologically advanced sports and entertainment venue across the globe. Seating can fit anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 people and includes 300 luxury suites, club seating and a Dallas Cowboy’s Pro Shop. The new stadium is already scheduled to host the 2011 Super Bowl, the 2010 NBA All-Star Game and the 2014 NCAA men’s basketball Final Four, as well as several other special events. Ticket prices range from $137.50 for floor seating and club level seats, $104.50 for 200 and 300 level Club seats, and $ 71.50 and $38.50. Parking lots will open at 2 p.m. the day of the event, and stadium doors will open at 4 p.m. The show begins at 5:30 p.m.
