Eventful and Little Big Town announced today that Country musicians across the nation can register and compete to land a spot as the opening act on Little Big Town's upcoming A Place to Land tour. The top four acts will perform at different stops on the tour during March. Once the bands are registered for the competition, the rest is up to the support of their fans.  2008 turned out to be a successful year with a platinum-selling act for Little Big Town. The band has also been nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals, was voted into GAC's Top 50 Videos of 2008 and was nominated for a CMT online award for Number One Digitally Active Group or Duo.The endurance continues as Little Big Town kicks off big in 2009 with their first nationwide headlining tour. Four lucky bands will join the already impressive list of opening acts including the Zac Brown Band, Ashton Shepard and Kate & Kacey.  "In the past Little Big Town has had amazing opportunities as an opening act," stated Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild. "We've had the honor of opening for John Mellencamp, George Strait, Martina McBride, Sugarland, Keith Urban and more. Because of our experiences, we wanted to find a way to give back to some bands that are just getting started in their careers. It's even more special because the fans get to choose. I can't wait to see who the fans select."Fans and musicians can log on to www.eventful.com/littlebigtown to participate.
