little-big-town-1Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman told Country Hound, “All of our families have been greatly affected by especially cancer. Jimi's mother had breast cancer. She's a survivor. My grandmother had breast cancer and passed away last year. So this is a cause that's really close to our hearts and is real emotional for us.”That’s why Little Big Town chose the T.J. Martell Foundation as a charity to focus on. “We want all the focus for the Ride for the Cure to go back onto T.J. Martell and just getting the word out. Maybe because we've brought it to the attention of some folks, it will make a difference in their research and the cure for diseases. We (LBT) talk about T.J. Martell a lot, and we are always telling people how much we support it and how important it is to give our dollars to this research. I think maybe when someone sees someone that they know and trust endorsing an organization, it helps them be more willing to do that.” Kimberly Schlapman said they do realize how much harder it is to donate in these tough economic times. “Especially these days, because of the economy. It's harder to fork over money for charity maybe for some people because they're having trouble buying the necessities. But I think the more we know about what advances are being made, the more likely a lot of people are to open up their pocket-books." For information on how to support T.J.
