Gone Country Returns to CMT in January

john-richProduction of CMT’s hit show, Gone Country, began recently with host John Rich returning for a third season. The show will premiere in January 2009 with seven new stars from all walks of life surrounded by the world of Country Music. The show is filmed over a two-week period in the home of Country Music: Nashville, Tenn.The new cast of the show includes: George Clinton, a member of Parliament and Funkadelic; Sheila E., former pop singer and entertainer; Taylor Dayne, a pop singer; Tara Connor, Miss USA 2006; Micky Dolenz, drummer and vocalist from The Monkees; Richard Grieco, an actor/musician; and Justin Guarini, a singer/songwriter and finalist on American Idol.Cast members spend two weeks working toward writing a hit single for Country Music radio. The celebrities join with some of Nashville’s best songwriters to help with their songs. They also participate in challenges to help them understand Country Music and adjust to life in Nashville. Past winners of the show include Julio Iglesias, Jr. and Sebastian Bach.
