Her latest single, "My Roots Are Showing," from her debut album, Dawn Of A New Day will be available for a free download this week, only on iTunes.  The music mogul company calls Shawanda's single, "…a rip-roaring cut…a far cry from the mannered country pop that makes headlines."  Shawanda's "My Roots Are Showing," is about knowing where you come from and being proud of it. "This song is about being proud of where you come from and standing your ground with who you are, which is the philosophy of my life. I love when I can say something meaningful in a song and still make it fun."  Shawanda grew up on a reservation on a Canadian island, and grew up finding hope in music. The RCA Nashville artist has already released the Top 20 hit, "You Can Let Go." Check out more of Shawanda at MySpace
