Country Music-al Greeting Cards

Walk into a Hallmark store and it's impossible to escape the technological and pop culture influences in today's greeting cards. From classic rock 'n roll sound cards to quotes from popular television shows, the face of America's greeting card is changing, and bringing Country Music with it. The popular card company has released several series of greeting cards that play a 30-second sample of songs from the likes of Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.  The cards are constructed from a complicated licensing procedure, seeking rights to songs, lyrics and images, and run around $5.00 each. The line of Hill cards, released in July, are part of the RED™ Cards collection in which a portion of the proceeds go to the Global Fund, an organization that fights the spread of AIDS in Africa. Other Country Music artists to be featured on Hallmark sound cards include Johnny Cash, Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, George Strait and Hank Williams.
