The newest pairing will be no different as CMT has added 38 Special and Trace Adkins to its latest list of performers. The episode will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 10:30 p.m. EST on CMT. 38 Special was formed by Donnie Van Zant, the brother of late Lynyrd Skynyrd front man Ronnie Van Zant, and Don Barnes over 30 years ago in their hometown of Jacksonville, Fla.  Incorporating a southern-blues style rock, the band has sold over 15 million albums since 1975. For country music fans, Trace Adkins’ career speaks for itself, with 24 singles appearing on the Billboard country charts in just 12 years. His next album, featuring his new single, “Muddy Water,” is scheduled for a Nov. 25 release. For more information fans can visit CMT.com.
