Country Music artist Tammy Cochran has scheduled a special re-release of her award-winning single “Angels in Waiting” after numerous fan requests.

The single honors Cochran’s brothers, both of whom died from Cystic Fibrosis at a young age.

With the help of songwriters Jim McBride and Stewart Harris, Cochran’s emotional journey to write the song ended with a single that earned her a Billboard Music Video Award and the Christian Country Music Association’s Music Video of the Year Award.

“I knew when I got my first record deal that I wanted to dedicate the album to my brothers and to write a song for them. So, I started the song immediately. I worked on it by myself for about a year and half,” Cochran said. "I met Jim and Stewart and told them my story. I also told them that the song I’d been working on would never be a single but that it was something that I needed to do. We all sat down, shared stories of loved ones we had lost, and ‘Angels in Waiting’ happened."

According to Cochran, the single, which was released in 2001, still gets “at least 100 emails a week” from fans sharing personal stories of their own “Angels.”

Cochran re-cut, re-recorded and re-packaged the song as a single release that is available for fans to purchase on her website, tammycochranfans.com.
