Country Music star Vince Gill is set to kick off his latest tour Aug. 18 in Wellington, Ohio, only this time he’s doing things a little different.

In both 2006 and 2007 Gill toured with a 17-piece band, but has now decided to travel only with his pianist, Pete Wasner, and percussionist, Billy Thomas. Both are longtime members of Gill’s band.

The 19-time Grammy winner got the idea from watching a James Taylor concert and has named the tour “A Special Acoustic Evening With Vince Gill,” according to cmt.com.

"It was a kind of one-man band show, with just him, a piano player and all those great songs," Gill said. "I really enjoyed watching it, and I knew I would enjoy performing in that setting as well. So I'm going to tour basically the same way -- pared down and informal."

The tour will run until November when it is scheduled to end with a two-night stand at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Va.
